Colored melodies & Interactive audio narratives
Using a drawing or painting tool – such as colored waxes, pencils, acrylics or the like – workshop participants draw on a large white paper. Each of the colors is associated with a tone that can be heard thanks to the device. Playing with different combinations of colors, participants will learn concepts of musical creation such as: scales, sequencers, rhythms, tonalities, etc … and you will be able to create your own colored melody collectively.
This workshop can be given more or less directed:
– It can be displayed as a continuous piece in installation mode, where coloring tools and devices are available to the public at any time, explained how they work and they freely interact by creating their sounds and / or copying / creating patterns of melodies. This form does not limit the number of participants nor the workshop time, but a person or a descriptive text explains the operation of the piece and everyone is invited to participate at any time.
– It can be done following a more classic workshop dynamics, where the participants are more guided following an experimental learning methodology.

Interactive audio narratives
This workshop will teach Arduino basics, sensors and interaction through the creation of our own interactive fictions. And how will we do it? With this small device that allows to associate colors to audio tracks.
First we will learn to plan and create a multi-linear history. Then, thanks to this small interactive system, we can distribute different colors in the space that will be associated with different parts of our stories, turning them into hidden stories available for those who want to enjoy them.
It has been made, for example, in a forest for the ESC Festival but can be done on any type of interior / exterior space or even on a mural / poster.
